Permitting in Palm City — there is no city permit

Palm City is not an incorporated municipality. It is an unincorporated community governed by the Martin County Board of County Commissioners, which means there is no city building department to apply to. Every Palm City permit goes through Martin County.

That trips people up, and it also trips up contractors from outside the area who assume there is a Palm City office to call. There is not. The application, the review and the inspections all run through the county.
